Bronze – Limited edition of 7
H 9.5 × W 2 × D 2 cm
Originally created in Japan in 1996, Lipstick Buddha began as a series of small Buddha figures carved directly into lipstick.
The original sculptures, preserved intact for thirty years, later inspired a limited bronze edition.
The bronze reproduces the delicate forms of the original carvings, transforming the familiar shape of a lipstick tube into a small sculptural monument.
The contrast between the everyday cosmetic object and the contemplative figure brings together beauty, desire and spirituality in a single form.
